PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Kaivas Commercial Park is one of the first planned commercial parks of such a scale in Latvia, and it is a part of an envisioned 52-hectare multifunctional development project in Dreilini (Dreiliņi). Total area is more than 1 million m2. Commercial spaces, offices, and residential areas are planned for inclusion in the commercial park. The envisaged site of the Kaivas Commercial Park is at an important crossroads, right next to the bypass of the center of Riga—only 7 km from the center of the city. Construction of surrounding roads and streets was completed in 2010; thus, excellent access to the property is ensured, both from the city center and from the opposite side of the city via the Southern Bridge. Access from the Riga–Moscow motorway to the traffic circle next to the Kaivas Commercial Park is envisioned; thus the property will be made accessible to one of the most intensive traffic concentrations in Riga. The traffic volume passing the property currently exceeds 80,000 vehicles a day.
Kaivas Commercial Park has basic infrastructure; further infrastructure objectives include a public-transport terminal point and “Park & Ride” parking accommodation.
Project development is envisioned in two stages. During the first stage, we will build large commercial properties (e.g., DIY, grocery, electronics and other stores); later we plan to build a traditional shopping and entertainment center.
Currently, negotiations with several potential tenants of the commercial park are in progress. SIA DOMUSS is the project developer.
